Eww Jackie, your adventure was a little creepy!

In Oz we have three overseas(!) companies exploiting Tasmania’s inshore waters for salmon farming. Apart from the hypernitrogenation and deoxygenation of the marine ecosystem at large, the Macquarie Harbour ‘sustainable’ venture is contributing heavily to the possible extinction of the Maugean skate, a stingray-like creature, whose numbers are now between 40 & 120 adults in the wild. We have the likes of eco warrior & former leader of the Australian Greens Bob Brown and writer Richard Flanagan fighting the salmon wars.

In case you’re interested, here’s a link to a Guardian article reporting on the most recent development in relation to M. Harbour.

Thank you for a great post, Jackie. Don's court case isn't finally resolved yet, because we're currently waiting for the Appeal Court to decide whether or not to allow a further hearing, restricted to the single point on which he lost, see my article on the case here: https://www.scottishlegal.com/articles/ewan-kennedy-is-there-a-concept-of-chattel-trespass-in-scots-law
