I am a Labour supporter Scottish and I believe in the United Kingdom unlike yourself. But if Reform win next General election I think you will get Scottish people looking for a independent Scotland because to be quite honest with you I have absolutely no time for Reform and I do not like or trust Nigel Farage and their far right policies. I currently vote Labour because I want to see a fairer United Kingdom. Damaging the Union would hurt us all . I rather see overall a more federal UK sharing the best with what works and doing our own thing for domestic affairs and taxation rather than total break up. No political system is perfect. But remember we need a currency, we need to know what will happen to UK pensions. I need to know who will defend our nation from being invaded or being attacked by aggressors.
Yes - I’d like Scotland to have more powers and be back in the EU. I don’t want independence just for the sake of it. But I think it’s ultimately for the Scottish people to decide. Do you think the Labour Party is right to just refuse another indy ref?
I think that we had our say for now in 2014 we should wait a number of years. I am not against another referendum for Scottish independence but the time has to be right. Conditions has to be set right . We need to deal with things like currency, EU membership ( need to be a referendum after Scotland votes for independence if we ever do) . Right now I honestly think the SNP have made Scotland a right laughing stock they are a bunch of clowns in a circus. They can’t do the day job . Always bleating on about the referendums . To gain trust you must show the Scottish people you are capable of governing do the ordinary day to day job running schools, hospitals public transport looking after housing the elderly disabled vulnerable people. Right now I feel that independence is cutting us away from Trade with the rest of the UK with import /export tariffs, I feel safer with the MOD defending our coastlines and skies . To gain independence the majority of the Scottish people must want it . I don’t think the UK is fair too but I want to see these in the British Isles get on with each other a fairer Britain. Finally I voted Remain with the majority of other Scottish people up here. For now I will continue to vote to remain in the Union for now. If Nigel Farage and Reform ever got into power my allegiance may change to wanting an Independent Scotland. But not now. I think for now Scottish Nationalism and Independence is a dead duck and is like flogging a dead duck. The majority don’t like the SNP and with Alex Salmond dying there is no one to take the helm for Independence. So I think it’s better we just sit quietly back and see how things progress. We have that card for independence when it is required but now now.
Well more or less it’s not setting the conditions of the referendum it’s about solving issues like currency stuff , borders , not jumping into some black hole and have no idea or direction where we are to go .
What the Supreme Court have to say on Scotland getting another referendum is irrelevant. It was set up by a British Parliament which foes not allow Scotland a say on such matters so was not approved by the prople of Scotland. Also, setting it up was a breach, though not the first by far, of the Terms of the Treaty of Union in 1707 which guaranteed the Independence of Scots Law.

When you say "deal with" what does that entail? What conditions do you think would need to be set in order for a referendum to be appropriate?

Well settling on 2039 would give time to work that out.
2039 probably would although I don’t think I will see it myself as I don’t think I would live that long .
