I wouldn't give the Clown Show more credit than they deserve -

Some of their ‘mistakes’ are not credible - I’m starting to find it a bit irritating that nobody questions them openly

I spent 30 years at State Department including 2 years in DOD - these people are themselves not credible, we are watching the kindergarden class try to play with the Varsity team.

I’m with you on this, Jackie. They know how to play the game and how likely people are to read it as incompetence. There’s always more than meets the eye. And if we can construe an alternative scenario, so they can they.

In just increasingly irritated by this ‘mistakes’ and I’ve started to feel sceptical

As a former journo I also saw PR people using this tactic to try to boost weaker stories or pitches. So in the absence of any other explanation (that I've read about, anyway) I find Jackie's theory plausible.

Had this thought as well. Seems a hard mistake to make…suggests someone on the chat had dude’s private number, and what? Accidentally copied and pasted it? Tried to add someone else and got the wrong name? And no one noticed it at all, even though it alerts you of the person who has been added and most of them were texting actively throughout?

Why, I’m a little less sure about. Put Europe on notice while giving themselves some cover? Was it leaked by another insider to shed light or add scrutiny to their actions?

Yes I read a post about Signal and it said that when someone is added to a chat group everyone gets a text message. Could just be the name I guess. I don’t know but hmmm

You got the memo, here’s the update for anyone who missed it.

Updated memo.

Quit chasing every manufactured outrage like dogs on a lure course and Benghazi the hell out of Signalgate!!!!

Everyone who serves or has served in the military can understand how bad this is and will be able to see the lies for what they are. I did not (wish I had), and I understand how bad this is.

US Citizens detained by ICE and held for hours without the enforcement action being documented? Were they using signal for that action - is that why documentation is missing?

Missing service members? Are they missing because their movements were discussed on Signal?

_____ outrage: how does it relate to Signal? Frame it that way.

Signalgate is akin to the abusive man getting caught inviting his wife into a groupchat with his swinger friends. Many MAGA women understand this all too well.

I think it’s more likely someone slipped it in intentionally but maybe in an attempt to make the knowledge public

I agree with you, though I’m not sure it’s working for them this time. Blaming everything on Biden has become so common I think it’s ignored and most all of the focus has been on the illegal disclosure of military info. Seems like in this case it’s more like a blunder, revealing, as Timothy Snyder points out, their use of Signal’s delete feature.

I think it’s got the phrase ‘European freeloading’ into the headlines if that’s what they were after

I think Waltz did it intentionally, as he had reached out to the EIC prior to. There was a relationship there. Journalists, like cops, aren’t going to compromise their Source. Not to mention the screenshot clearly showing

“Michael Waltz added you to the chat”. LOL

No I don’t think so. The work they referenced is on sex hormones. There is a link in the piece. I don’t think Trump wrote his own speech. I don’t think these guys are stupid actually. Dangerous and scary.
